The ladies monthly round robin tournament was held on 9/11 this past week. We used it as an opportunity to remember the events of that tragic day. Many will never forget where they were when they heard the news 17 years ago, but some of the facts may fade. To remind us of this act of terror, several players read out loud the events which occurred that day. Pat White, a retired fire captain shared with us a first hand story of her fire fighter friend aiding in the recovery efforts at the twin towers and her own memory of attending the 10 year anniversary in NYC.

Many gals wore patriotic colors as a show of support

“Terrorists attacks can shake the foundation of our biggest buildings, but they cannot

touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the

steel of American resolve.” President George W. Bush  9/11/2001
